I Strongly Recommend you use PHP as much as possible before using Laravel. At least, You have to get knowledge of Core PHP. After that, You can learn OOPs, Database interaction, and many more.
If you didn't learn and practiced PHP properly then you can get into lots of lots trouble. So that before jumping into Laravel make a few PHP projects such as a Student Management system, Note application, Weather forecast application ETC.
